Detailed Description

In this practical example, a guide plate is specified.
It is a component of the “hole punch” assembly, as typically used in final examinations for metalworking training professions.
A before-and-after comparison demonstrates how an initially ambiguous drawing is transformed into an ISO-GPS-compliant and thus functionally appropriate representation.
Among other things, design intents for assembly are made explicit through clear specifications.
This makes it possible to understand the negative impact that ambiguous drawings can have on functionality.
